Masaba Gupta Refutes Rumours Of Taking Over Late Designer Wendell Rodricks’ Fashion Label As Creative Director; Read Statement
Masaba Gupta taking to her Insta Stories, cleared that she is neither joining Wendell Rodricks' label in any capacity nor collaborating with them
Late designer Wendell Rodricks had handpicked Schulen Fernandes as the successor of his fashion label before he passed away in 2020. Schulen Fernandes was appointed as the creative director for the resort wear label of the legendary fashion designer. However, as Schulen decided to step down from her designation, rumour mills had it that ace fashion designer Masaba Gupta would be taking over the fashion label as creative head. Hence, the young designer taking to her Insta Stories, cleared the air.
In her post, she confessed to being a huge fan of the late designer’s work, as he was her mentor and big support. But she clearly stated that she is not taking over his brand as creative head nor is she collaborating with his brand. As she continues to focus on her designer label and will be working on the growth of her fashion label. Also on the end note, she wished Wendell Rodricks’ team luck for their further endeavours.
Her INSTA Stories read, “Wendell Rodricks was my mentor & a big support system. However, I am just a fan like everyone else and am not taking over his label as Creative Director, or doing a collaboration with the brand, as reports suggest.
